Josie Ramirez Gonzales

Josie (Nena) Gonzales, age 80, of Abilene, Tx, passed away on May 15, 2026, at her home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Hamil Funeral Family Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday May 21,2026 at Graham Street Iglesia De Cristo with the Minister of the Gospel, Mark Jones of Graham St. Iglesia de Cristo, officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Josie Gonzales was born in Lockhart, Tx. to Maria Gonzales and Lonjino Cedillo on August 27, 1945. She married Eulalio (Lalo) Gonzales on September 20, 1958, in Hamlin, Tx. She worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Abilene Independent School District for twenty-two years.

Josie was preceded in death by her Husband Eulalio (Lalo) Gonzales, Brother Jesse (Chue) Ramirez, Sister Julie Buckner, Sister Maria Ramirez, Brother Felipe Ramirez, Sister Juanita Perez, Brother Roy Ramirez, Brother Leandro Palomarez and Mother Maria Ramirez.

Josie Gonzales is survived by her children, Son Israel and Wife Perla Gonzales, Daughter Amanda Gonzales and Valentine Perez, Grandchildren Cierra Gonzales, Eulalio (Lio) Gonzales, Mya Gonzales, Ivan Gonzales, Michael Perez, Adrian Perez, and Elijah Perez.

Pallbearers will be Eulalio (Lio) Gonzales, Ivan Gonzales, Keegan Harsh, Michael Perez, Adrian Perez, and Oscar Martinez.

The Josie Gonzales family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Doctors and nurses that treated her in the hospital, the staff of Hendrick Hospice Care, and all of her family and friends from the Sears Park and Rose Park Senior Program Organizations.
