Jose Armando Sanchez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joe Sanchez on May 3, 2026. Born as Jose Armando Sanchez in Santa Anna, Texas to Guadalupe and Pedro Sanchez on January 10, 1956. Joe was a man of boundless energy and quick wit. He was always so resilient with anything he put his mind to. He overcame many obstacles throughout his life by making the best out of every situation. Throughout his life journey of 70 years he touched many lives with his humor, his spirit and charismatic personality. He was a member of St Francis Catholic Church and never lost faith in his Lord. Joe enjoyed his mornings drinking coffee at various restaurants and never met a stranger he didn’t like.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Pedro Sanchez.

Joe is survived by his brothers Pete Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez and partner Laurence Sanders, Ricky Sanchez and spouse Tonja, and Wally Sanchez. His sister Rosie and spouse Brett Imlah, nieces and nephews Peter Sanchez, Marcie Sanchez, Mellissa Torres, Demetria Rodriquez, Ricky Sanchez Jr, Stephanie Daniel, Brittany Daniel and Joshua Scott. As well as numerous great nieces and nephews and even five great great nieces and nephews.

A rosary and visitation will be held on Monday May 11, 2026, from 6pm-8pm at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at 10am at St Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood St., Abilene, Texas, with Father Innocent Eziefule officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Coleman City Cemetery, East 9th St., Coleman, Texas.
