John Daniel

John J. Daniel, 86, of Abilene, entered into his forever home in heaven on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

John was born in Abilene to Aurora and Fructoso Daniel on December 27, 1936. He worked for M System and United Supermarket for several years, until he retired.  People were his passion at work, where he was very dedicated. In 1978 he met and married Bennie Ruth Brazil and they shared a loving marriage for over 44 years. John was known for being in the Christian band called Los Samaritanos where he played alongside his brothers and nephews, playing state to state.

John was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife and brothers Camilo, David and Danny. He is survived by his children, Joe Daniel and wife Yolanda, Sarah Cortez and husband Manuel Sr, Mike Daniel and wife Karlene and Theresa Gonzales and husband Johnny. Evelyn Raughton husband Mike, R.B Wagley, Benson Wagley wife Cynthia. Sisters, Ester Gomez. Lidia Gonzales, Ruth Guerrero and husband Raymond, Becky Silguero and husband Andres. Brothers, Noe and wife Minnie, Eliseo and wife Janie. 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, between 6-8pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Funeral services will be held at The Hamil Family Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 9am with Reverend Pecina officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277-South.
