Joe Overton, 87, of Tuscola, passed away on September 15, 2026 in his home in Tuscola. 

Joe Overton was born in Abilene to Frank and Joyce Overton on April 13, 1939. He graduated from Snyder High School. After working for the railroad, he earned an Associates of Arts from Howard County Junior College before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Houston. 

He married Brenda Overton on May 20, 1972 at Southwest Park Baptist Church, and they recently celebrated their 54th anniversary. He worked as a pharmacist for Robinson Pharmacy and Hendrick Pharmacy, among others in the Abilene area, for 52 years. 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Joyce Overton. Joe is survived by his wife, Brenda, his son, Brad and wife Beth of Azle, and his son Barry of Seattle, as well as grandchildren Brooke, Lauren, Troy, and Courtney.

The family held a private visitation and memorial.
