Jimmie Delle Bolin, 89, of Abilene, passed away on May 31st 2026.
Visitation will be 11:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 with the funeral immediately following from 12:00 to 1:00 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Jimmie’s lifelong friend Dr. Charles Jones of Amarillo,TX will be officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jimmie was born in Spade Community southwest of Colorado City, TX to Eunice and Robert Bolin on April 17th, 1937. He graduated from Colorado High School in 1955.
Jimmie married Jane Baker, a black-haired beauty from Snyder, TX who worked at Stinson's Drug Store on October 8th, 1955, at the Northside Baptist Church in Snyder, TX.
Jimmie started his long and prosperous career with Dowell at Colorado City, TX in 1955, driving a service truck at the ripe old age of 18. Being married and having a new job, Jimmie and Jane soon started a family with the arrival of a son by the name of Stephen Delle Bolin on November 11th, 1956. Lisa Diane Bolin was soon to follow on April 22nd, 1960, with big blue eyes just like her daddy. Being a Christian man, Jimmie also served as the song leader and deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, TX where he and the family made many lifelong relationships. The young family continued to live in Colorado City where Jimmie was promoted to the rank of Service Manager, and they saw both children graduate from Colorado High School. Soon after, Jimmie was promoted to General Manager of Dowell in Monahans, Tx where they moved in 1978, Jimmie was later promoted as equipment manager and was transferred to Tulsa, OK. Later he was transferred to Westerville, OH where he took the position of Manager of the Eastern Division where he managed all the territory east of the Mississippi River. On their final company move, Jimmie and Jane moved back to Tulsa, OK where Jimmie was responsible for the changes that occurred when Dowell Division of Dow Chemical was sold with the name change of Dowell Schlumberger. Upon the transition of the company, Jimmie decided to take full retirement in 1992, when he and Jane made their final move to Abilene, Tx.
Jimmie was proceeded in death by the love of his life Jane Baker Bolin, father and mother, Robert and Eunice Bolin, and sister Jean Stanley of Longview, TX. father-in-law and mother-in-law Lester and Pauline Baker, sister-in-law Ann Baker, brother-in-law Paul L. Baker.
Jimmie is survived by son and wife, Steve and Dianna Bolin of Abilene, and beloved daughter, Lisa Bolin of Abilene, his grandson Landon Hammond and wife Chrystal Hammond of Abilene, granddaughter Linzee Hammond Castro and husband Philip Castro of Colorado City, TX, granddaughter Neely Bolin Rempel and husband Seth Rempel of El Paso, TX, great grandchildren Landry Hammond , Lincoln Hammond and Lanee Castro.
The family of Jimmie Bolin wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Lyndale Memory Care of Abilene, and especially all the aides who have been so sweet and giving during this time. There are too many names, so we thank you all. The family would also like to thank the wonderful nurses and care givers affiliated with Interim Hospice. Thank you for loving our dad.
