Jeremiah J. Young

1978 — March 2, 2022

Jeremiah Johnson Young

Jeremiah Johnson Young, 43, of Abilene, unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus on March 2, 2022, at his home.

Visitation will be 4-6 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Beltway Park Church, South Campus with Pastor Josh Hardwick officiating.  Private burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Jeremiah was born in Chico, TX to Cindy Willis on June 17, 1978.  He was adopted by Billy Young and raised in Decatur, TX.  He graduated from Decatur High School.  He married Jennifer on March 14, 2009 in Snyder, TX.  He worked for Vexus Fiber as a Residential Sales Manager.  Jeremiah lived a life that was entirely devoted to chasing Jesus when he was baptized at the age of 21.  The years that followed were marked by joy that flowed from obedience to the Holy Spirit.  His God given personality, filled with joy and humor, drew him to serve in the Beltway Student Ministries and Beltway Kids.  Jeremiah was moved by the Lord to seek revival and walked out his calling and faith alongside the Godly men of his Fire Team.  As Husband, Jeremiah championed for Jennifer in every season guarding her heart and spurring her on.  As a loving father, he shepherded Emmalyn and Tristan by bringing the fun and joy while setting the example through a Christ-centered life.

Jeremiah was preceded in death by grandfather, Reno Clayton, mother-in-law, Debbie Roemisch, and grandmother-in-law, Jayme Roemisch.

Jeremiah is survived by wife Jennifer, daughter Emmalyn, and son Tristan of Abilene, TX; brother Benjamin Young and wife Mandy and their children of Sevierville, TN; brother-in-law Jeremy Roemisch, and his children of Hermleigh, TX; mother Cindy Willis and husband Donald of Ponder, TX; adopted stepfather Billy Young, who raised him, of Decatur, TX; and father-in-law Joe Roemisch of Hermleigh, TX.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Burke, Matt Briggs, Daryn Crowell, Cody Wadsworth, Robbie Walker, and Benjamin Young.  Honorary pallbearers are Todd Hendrix, Bill Friske, John Nichols, David Correa, Jeremy Roemisch, Andy Booe, Derek Blanton, Nole Hadaway, Victor Roman, and Jeremy Stockwell.

The family of Jeremiah Young wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has dedicated so much time and care in this difficult season.
