Jena Beth Madeley, 54, of Abilene, TX, passed away on May 7, 2025 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, May 9, 2025 at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Baker Heights Church of Christ with Sam Dilbeck of Baker Heights Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Stephenville, TX. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Jena was born in Dalhart, TX to Philip and Carolyn Madeley on October 3,1970. She graduated from Amarillo High School in Amarillo, TX. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. She claimed to have 5 children, “2 of whom live with their parents in Amarillo and 3 of whom live with their parents in Arlington.” She worked for a defense contractor at Dyess Air Force Base for 22 years, and as a Digital Support Manager for World Bible School for the past 8 years. She was involved in Big Brothers/ Big Sisters and was a Bible class teacher for many years. She went on several mission trips to Zambia and had a special love for the Zambian people.
Jena was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roland and Beulah Mae Madeley and Gene and Beth Rose. Jena is survived by her parents, Philip and Carolyn Madeley, her sisters Rena (Matt) Adams and Lisa (Doug) Martin, nieces McKaylee (Everett) Barnes, Emily Martin and Allison Martin and nephews Ryan (fiance Abby) Adams and Nicholas Martin, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and too many friends to count.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Martin, Matt Adams, Ryan Adams, Nicholas Martin, Everett Barnes and Curtis Madeley. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Madeley, William Madeley, Daniel Madeley, Andrew Madeley, Henry Madeley, and Jacob Madeley.
Memorials may be given to World Bible School at worldbibleschool.net. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Hari Kalla and the nurses at Texas Oncology; Dr. Chris Hardegree; her Physical Therapist, Robert Dennis; and her church family at Baker Heights Church of Christ and Oldham Lane Church of Christ.
