Jeanette Martha Swaim

Jeanette Swaim, age 67, of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 18, 2021 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reed Justus of Aldersgate U.M.C officiating. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Services are under the direction of the The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Jeanette Swaim was born in Temple, Texas to Felix and Vera Brown on August 7,1954. She graduated from Rogers High School and attended Temple and Cisco Colleges. She married Jimmy Swaim on January 29, 1980. Jeanette worked as a legal secretary for several local law firms. Later she worked as a real estate closing agent in Abilene. Later she worked for Hilliard Energy. She was active in Abilene Legal Secretaries Association and a member of Aldersgate U.M.C. She was active in Volunteers in Mission with the Methodist Church. She worked on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and New Mexico for many years. She also participated in mission trips to Guatemala. Jeanette lived in Mazatlán, Mexico with her husband where they traveled much of Mexico.

Jeanette was preceded in death by father, Felix Brown, and her mother Vera Brown.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Jimmy Swaim, children Kimberly Stinnett and Randy of Abilene and Jamie Golden and Steven, of Houston. 3 grandchildren: Sierra Sudberry and Wes of Abilene, Logan Stinnett of Abilene, and Jaleigh Sudberry of Abilene. She was blessed by two great grandsons: Parker and Walker Medford of Abilene. She is also survived by one sister Anita Lantrip and George of New Braunfels.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Baugus, Bob Carter, Randy Legate, Wes Medford, Henry Rodriguez, and David Swaim.

Memorials may be given to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine St, Abilene, Texas 79601. The family of Jeanette wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hendrick Hospice.
