Jared Adam Stevens, 39, of Abilene, TX, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 1, 2021 in Abilene, TX.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 9, 2021, at New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church, 5535 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021, at New Hope Church, 3122 S. Clack St, Abilene, TX with the Reverend Jonathan Neely of New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscola Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Jared was born in Abilene, TX to Reverend Jack and Linda Stevens on October 8, 1981. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Generalist EC-6 where he made the President’s List and Dean’s List. He married his one and only, Kristal King Stevens, on March 8, 2003, in Abilene, TX. They lived in Brownwood from 2003-2008, then moved back to Abilene, TX in 2008. Jared worked as a Pre-K teacher and as a 6th grade math teacher at Abilene ISD for the last 3 years. He was a dedicated member of Brownwood Evangelism Center and New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church. Jared loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and served with gladness in many areas of ministry. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. He touched so many lives through his leadership, mentoring, and most of all, friendship. He honored God by the manner in which he lived his life.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents R.H. and Ruby Maxwell and O.M. and Alma Stevens.
Jared is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kristal Stevens of Abilene, TX; two daughters, Macey Stevens and Kynlee Stevens; brother, Philip Stevens of Clyde, TX; parents, Reverend Jack and Linda Stevens of Clyde, TX; In-laws, Reverend James and Sharon King of Tuscola, TX; brother in law James King III and wife Traci of Tuscola, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
