Janice Richardson

 It is with great sadness that the family of Jan Richardson (Nanny) announce her peaceful passing while surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2023, at the age of 75.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday January 28, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, Texas.

Jan Richardson (Nanny) was born in Archer City, Texas on April 23, 1947, to Alma and Carver Burley Baker.  She attended school in Kamay, Texas.  She married Dewayne Hair in 1964 that passed in 1975.  She then married Walter Richardson in 1979.

Nanny will be remembered for her compassion, her absolute love of her family, cooking, gardening and her generosity of serving others.  Nanny's biggest passion was taking care of kids and adopting them as her own no matter the age.

Nanny is preceded in death by her husband Walter Richardson, daughter Kim Ludiker, parents Burley Baker, Alma and Bert Ross, sisters Oleta Rotz and Halie Brock, brother Jack Baker, and in-laws Thelma and Walter Richardson.

She is survived by her daughters Dee and husband Tim Grund, Barbara and husband Randy Gentry, sons Lee and wife April Richardson, Joe and wife Amy Richardson, adopted children Kevin and Beth Denman, Braden and Kat Denman, Ben and Kristen Ramirez, 15 grandkids and 11 great-grandkids, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hendricks Hospice, 1651 Pine St, Abilene, TX 79601.
