Janet Leigh Bowling

Janet Leigh Bowling, 73, of Raleigh Durham, North Carolina and resident of Texas passed away on February 28th, 2022 in Abilene, Tx.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, March 05, 2022 at 2 pm. The celebration will be held at 281 Tweetie Pie Lane, Abilene, Tx 79602, all family and friends are invited to attend.

Janet was born in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina to Thera Hunt and Leo Schlink on October 29th, 1948.  She attended and graduated from Robert G. Cole High School in San Antonio, Texas. She married the love of her life Captain Vernon Bowling on October 18th, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas at Fort Sam Houston Chapel. They spent 53 joyous years together.  She was a loving mother and wife, caring for many children throughout her lifetime.  She cherished deeply her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janet never met a stranger and loved all people.

Janet was proceeded in death by her Mother Thera Hunt, Father Leo Schlink, Step- father Larry Beltman, Grandparents Roy and Lillie Hunt, Aunt Mabel Page, Aunt Thelma Giddings, Aunt Edith Thomas, Uncle Leroy Hunt, Uncle Jesse Hunt.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Vernon Bowling, Daughter and husband Lori and Glenn Champion, Son and wife Daniel and Erica Bowling, Daughter Jennifer Epstein: Brother Wayne Schlink, Sister Jessie Cordova, Brother Henry Beltman, Brother John Beltman, Sister Elizabeth Jankowiak, Sister Suzanne Harris, Brother Keith Beltman:  Grandchildren Amber Shipman, Joshua Wilson, Shaun Wilson, Cody Ohlemacher, Megan Bowling, Tiffani Velasquez, Carli Ohlemacher, Emily Bowling, Cassidy Champion and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in honor of Janet to the Noah Project 5802 Texas Avenue, Abilene, Texas 79605 and the St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
