James "Allen" Young

James “Allen” Young, 66, of Abilene, TX, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Friday, October 10th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene TX.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM Saturday, October 11th at Beltway Park Church Chapel, 4009 Beltway South, Abilene, TX with Dustin Pearce of Advance Church in Midland, TX officiating. Burial will follow at Iberis Cemetery Abilene, TX.

Allen Young was born in Hamlin, Texas to Kenneth and Shasta Young on November 14, 1958. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1977 and attended Western Texas College in Snyder, TX and San Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. He married Cynthia Pearce Young on April 24, 1982, in Roscoe, TX and they resided in Hamlin, TX until moving to Abilene in 1986. Allen worked in the oil and gas industry first as a pumper before owning an oil and gas well testing service, Allen Wireline Service, Inc. His knowledge and experience in the oilfield connected him with many people and businesses, which brought him a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction. He loved West Texas and often photographed the animals and landscape wherever he worked. He worked hard and played hard riding motorcycles and playing guitar. He loved being a dad, spending time with family and leading worship at various churches and men’s retreats. More than anything else, Allen loved his Lord.

Allen Young was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cindy Young, his children Zacha Young and Mason Young, and his sister Diane Edwards.

Memorials may be made to any pro-life organization committed to protecting the lives of the unborn.
