James Dusckas

James N. Dusckas Jr., 86 of Abilene passed away on Saturday June 24, 2023.

Visitation will be 9:00am to 8:00pm on Friday June 30, 2013 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 9:00am Saturday July 1, 2023 at The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest at 602 Meander Street Abilene, TX 79602 with the Rev. Karen Boyd and Rev. Amanda Watson of Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by Dyess Air Force Honor Guard will follow at 12:00 Noon at Mount Marion Cemetery (Strawn Cemetery). Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

James was born Watertown, NY to James Nicholas and Marion Janic (Woodman) Dusckas on January 23, 1937. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. He married Eleanore Nunez on September 1, 1959, in Weatherford, TX. He joined the United States Air Force in October 1958 and retired after 22 years of honorable service with many awards for valor. After his military service, James worked at Citizens Bank until they sold and then worked for First National Bank of Abilene. He finished his banking career with First Bank Texas in 2018. James was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a disabled veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and the Dyess Golf Association.

He was preceded in death by parents; James and Marion Dusckas of Watertown, NY and his wife, Eleanore of Abilene, TX.

James is survived by sons; James N. Dusckas III and wife, Rebecca of San Angelo, TX., Gregory S. Dusckas and wife, Jennifer of Highland Village, TX., grandchildren; Megan, Nick and Jordan, great-grandchildren; Kayleigh, Garrett, Aaden and Brylee, Wyatt, and a sister; Sharon Holder.
