Jacqueline (Ann) Sherrod Latham, 75, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Abilene.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Wylie Baptist Church, 6097 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas 79606.
Funeral services immediately to follow at 11 a.m. at Wylie Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Andrews officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Ann was born in Abilene on May 31, 1950, daughter to Ernest Glenn Sherrod and Mona Margaret Wrenn Sherrod. She grew up in Abilene schools and attended high school in Abilene and West Covina, California, before graduating from Brady High School in 1968. Ann worked for Hendrick Medical Center until her retirement in 2000. She then worked for the Abilene Independent School District until her second retirement in 2021. According to her faith, Ann remained dedicated to community service throughout her life and was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 40 years, where she built many of her most enduring friendships.
Ann married Gary Latham in 1990, and they built a lifetime of memories together while traveling around the United States and overseas. A selfless and dedicated mother to her two sons, she never missed an opportunity to support them and cheer them on in their pursuits, from arts and academics to sports and FFA. She was our beloved “GiGi” to her four cherished granddaughters and often traveled great distances to enjoy their participation and achievements in sports and the arts. She was the pillar of our family, and we are heartbroken without her.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Gary Latham, her parents Glenn and Margaret Sherrod, and her brother Terry Sherrod.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Gilmore and wife Jennifer of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Trey Gilmore and wife Christy of Weatherford, Texas; four granddaughters, Mena and Ciaran Gilmore of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Kynlee and Kolyer Gilmore of Weatherford, Texas; two nephews and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cain, Bruce Eady, Doug Grassman, Micah Greathouse, Chad McConnell, and John David Vaughn.
