Jacob received scholarships to both the University of Texas for Theatre and Sound Design and chose to attend Texas Tech University. Jacob had a season of time of traveling as the drummer with Shane and Shane, a Christian worship band. After falling in love Jacob proposed marriage and then married the love of his life Angelique Marie Raut on September 23, 2007, in Abilene, Texas.

Jacob worked at Beltway Park Church serving in various roles such as intern, AV, acoustics mixer, worship ministry producer, Senior Pastor, and media director for nineteen years. Jacob was a true entrepreneur with a unique gift for creativity and the arts, after resigning from Beltway Park in 2019 he owned a media company called Earsight Design.
