Ima Gean Wittie, 94, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, in Abilene.
Gean was preceded in death by her parents, Alene Wilson Hollingsworth and Estes Wilson; her husband Bill Wittie; a grandson, Mitchell Thomas Wittie; her sister, Betty Wittie and brother-in-law Ed Wittie; sons-in-law, Richard Johnson, and Donnie Aston.
Gean is survived by one son, Lee Roy (Bill) and wife, Sandra Wittie of Round Rock, two daughters, Carrolyn Johnson of Abilene, and Brenda Aston of Corpus Christi; her six grandchildren, Brent Stone of Kingsville, Chad Armstrong of Dallas, Dawn Horton of Cibolo, Ginger Womble of Rockwall, Matthew Wittie of Hutto, Meredith Von Dohlen of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by her thirteen great grandchildren, two nieces and five nephews.
Gean was born in Potosi to Alene Snow (Kirkendoll) and Thomas Estes Wilson on November 10, 1927. She graduated from Wylie High School in 1944. She married the love of her life, Billy George Wittie in Abilene on August 3, 1946. Bill and Gean lived the majority of their married life in Abilene. After retirement they loved traveling in their motor home with family and long time friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Elmwood Memorial Park, Garden of Faith, 5750 Hwy 277 South under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
