Ida Pearl Lilly Reid, 90, of Lawn, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2026, at Hendrick Hospice Care Center in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 7 at the Dewey Cemetery Pavilion, 2665 FM 382, Lawn, Texas with burial to follow.
The daughter of L.M. (Bill) Lilly and Bessie (Kelsey) Lilly, Ida was born on July 11, 1935 at the family home in Shep, Texas. She attended Shep School then upon its consolidation, graduated from Blackwell CISD. She moved to Abilene and worked at Whites Auto and then The Pender Company.
Ida married Manton Reid on February 17, 1956 at her family home in Shep. They made their home at Lawn, Texas. She later worked at the family service station and also by her husband’s side plowing fields, taking care of their cattle and their three daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, brother John Cecil Lilly and wife Patsy.
Survivors include her daughters Sherry Reid Carroll and husband Ron of Flower Mound, Texas, Vonnie Reid Nealon and husband Michael of Center Point, Texas and Janna Reid Best and husband Randy of Lawn, Texas; five grandchildren Lacey Griffith, Kayla Yates and husband Chris, Manton Best and wife Chelsea, Alan Howard and wife Amy, Valerie Fulmer and husband Chris; 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Survivors also include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Dewey Cemetery or Meals on Wheels.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Meals on Wheels, Enhabit Home Health and the staff at Hendrick Hospice Care Center.
