Hunter Wayne Hawkins, 28, of Abilene, passed away on May 23rd, 2025, in Abilene.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28th from 5:00-7:00pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 29th at 10:00am at Broadview Baptist Church with Brother David Cason of Broadview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be held at Roby Cemetery at 2:30pm. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Hunter was born in Abilene to Dennis and Cindy Hawkins on November 10th, 1996. He graduated from Abilene Cooper High School in 2015. He then went on to graduate from Texas Tech University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2019.

Growing up, Hunter had a great passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his Dad and Grandpa. As he got into high school, his priorities shifted and he found football as his new love. Even more than playing, he loved watching his Dallas Cowboys. He lit up whatever room he walked into and was always there for those that he cared for. A gentle soul, always trying to make everyone around him happy.

Hunter was preceded in death by his Grandpa (DW Havins), Great Grannie (Yvonne Williams), Nannie (Wilma Jean Gates), and his Aunt Margo Corneillie.

Hunter is survived by his parents Dennis and Cindy Hawkins, younger brother Hudson Hawkins and the best 4 legged friend Blu, Emah Kay Hawkins, Grandma Carolyn Havins, Grumpy Phillip Hill Sr, Grandy Lynda Hill, Aunt DeeDee Corbin, Uncle David Hawkins, Uncle Justin Hawkins and wife Vinyl, Aunt Mendy Woodward and husband Bobby, Uncle Phil Hill and wife Lisa, numerous cousins and many more loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Robert Crossman, Richard Milliorn, Damon Hargrove, Cole Hargrove, and Zach Boyd.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Hunter’s name to Abilene Absolute Recovery Solutions or Hendrick Hope Fund.
