Glenda (Dieckman) Tarver, 66, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Glenda was born January 8, 1955 in Monte Vista, Colorado. She moved to Abilene, TX in 1968. While attending the 8th grade she met her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Tarver. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1973 and married Jerry shortly after on November 23, 1973.

Glenda worked as a secretary and operated her own business called JustWood. She had a special talent for wood crafting. She raised and showed Rottweilers for over 20 years and was also active in the Abilene Kennel Club. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, and always made time to watch Jeopardy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eli and Janis Dieckman.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Tarver; her daughter, Dory Tarver and husband Daniel; son, Jayton Tarver and girlfriend Heather McWhorter; 1 Grandchild, Eli Tarver; brothers, Randy, Brian, and Vaughn Dieckman; sisters, Charla Inness and Deanna Koenig and husband Kenny, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taylor-Jones Humane Society.
