Frank C. Silva, age 75, passed away peacefully in his home on April 13, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.
Born on April 12, 1950, in Stockton, California, to Frank Tony Silva and Helen McIntire, Frank lived a life of perseverance and service. His journey took him from the trade of master electrician to graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, where he earned his credentials as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He went on to serve the State of Texas for 20 years, retiring after making a meaningful impact in the lives of many.
Frank Proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, embodying courage and commitment to his country. Throughout his life, he was a source of wisdom and strength to those around him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank T. Silva and Helen McIntire, as well as his brothers, Anthony Ray Silva and Mark Silva. He is survived by his sons, David Shoneff and Frank C. Silva, Jr. of Stockton, California, his daughters, Jennifer Nell Silva and Melissa Marie Silva of Abilene, Texas, 18 cherished grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy of perseverance and resilience.
Visitation will be held on April 21, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Funeral services will take place on April 22, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., at Sacred heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette St., Abilene followed by a committal service with military honors at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene at 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Reed, Jason Gwinn, Drake Williams, Quinton Williams, Jayton Bernal, and Bryan Fulkersin.
Frank will be remembered for his perseverance, love for his family, and service to his community and country. May his soul rest in peace.
