Floyce McCullough

1923 — September 16, 2020

Floyce Bussey McCullough passed to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in Abilene, Texas. Floyce was born on March 27, 1923 to Floyd and Carrie Bussey. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1940.+ Services are currently pending for Saturday, September 19, in Electra, Texas followed by a graveside at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park. Please check back soon for more detailed information. Floyce married Odell McCullough in 1943 in Holliday, Texas. They eventually settled in Electra, Texas where they raised their family. Floyce was a “stay at home mom,” as well as an accomplished gardener, cook, and creator of lovely embroidery work. Her homemade pies were a work of art. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Electra. In 2008, Floyce moved to Abilene to be near family. She made many friendships in her retirement home, Wisteria Place. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Odell, and her four sisters, Jewell Garrett, Hester Simco, Eula Thornton, and Mary Whatley. She is survived by two sons, Bob McCullough and wife Brenda of Uvalde, and Jesse McCullough and wife Tracey of San Angelo; two daughters, Ruth Ferry and husband Mike of Abilene, and Etta Trantham and husband Mike also of Abilene. Floyce and Odell had ten grandchildren: Jason McCullough (Betsy), Kyle McCullough (Allison), Mark Ferry (Tish), Anne Ferry Martin (Stephen), Karen Ferry Nix (Shannon), Travis Ferry, Bradley Trantham (Becky), Stephen Trantham (Holly), Lauren McCullough, and Abbey McCullough Taylor (Alex). They also had 15 great-grandchildren, who loved their “Mammaw” very much. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. From her family, a special thank you to all of her caregivers at Wisteria Nursing Center in Abilene. Memories may be shared and condolences submitted online at www.HamilFamilyFuneralHome.com
