Eva Mae Cason, 97, of Abilene passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with the Dr. John Whitten of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Eva Cason was born in Waco, Texas to T.B. & Dorothy Wilkins on August 6, 1927. She went to school in Wellington, Texas. She graduated from Wellington High School as Salutatorian. She married Charles Cason on January 5, 1947 in First Baptist Church of Wellington, Texas. She and her husband owned and operated S&S Sales for over 20 years. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where she loved serving as an adult ladies Sunday school teacher for nearly 50 years. She was totally devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her family first and foremost. She cherished the title of Granny to her grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Charles and children Charles Cason III, Randy Cason Sr., Candace Grantham. Daughter in law Gena and grandchildren Danlyn Cason and Matthew Cason. Brothers Glenn Wilkins, Bud Wilkins, Lloyd Wilkins and T.B. (Bud) Wilkins and Pat Wilkins.
Eva is survived by her daughter Rhonda Mayfield and husband Mike, son Rick and Wife Jene'e. Daughers-in-Law Jan Cason and Mary Lynn Cason. Son-in-Law Kevin Grantham. Granchildren Randy Cason Jr. and wife Sadie, Charva Ingram and husband Jason, Ron Cason and wife Tiffany, David Cason and wife Starla, Aubrey Beeman. Great grandchildren Trey Cason, Kaylynn Cason, Hattie Cason, Cade Cason, Ivy Ingram, Cason Ingram, Presley Cason, Landry Cason, Brittyn Cason & Charlee Cason. Great-great grandchildren Deacon Cason & Brewer Cason. Brother Tom Wilkins and wife Paula. Sister-in-Law Yvonna Wilkins.
Pallbearers will be David Cason, Ron Cason, Randy Cason Jr., Minh Truong, Bob Patty, John Voller & Ken Ramey.
The family of Eva wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses on Parker Wing 5th floor at Hendrick Medical Center as well as the loving and caring staff with Hendrick Hospice Care.
