He went on to serve as an MRI technician with Abilene Bone and Joint, now Hendrick Clinic Bone and Joint.

Duke had a sincere love for music following primarily the Beatles, Moody Blues, Chicago and James Taylor. Along with that, sports played a large part of his life, everything from watching his children and grandchildren playing a wide range of sports including watching the Dallas Cowboys, anything Texas Longhorns and golf!
