Dorothy Dell Gore, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the age of 91. Graveside services were held Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Potosi Cemetery. Rev. Norman Patton officiated. Services were under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
She was born January 27, 1917 in Potosi, Texas to Claude Gilbreth and Annie Bell (Brookshire) Gilbreth. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1935.
Dorothy married Robert Hilton Gore. He preceded her in death in December of 2005. She was a bookkeeper for Miami Oil Producers for 24 years. She was a member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Annie Bell Gilbreth, her husband, Robert Hilton Gore, and her brother, Rankin Gilbreth.
Dorothy is survived by three step-sons, Jerry Gore, of Plano, John Gore, of Lubbock, and Dr. Richard Gore, of Abilene; one step-daughter, Shirlene Burns, of Abilene; one sister, Emma Gene Gore, of Abilene; one niece, Paula Uland, of Farmersville, two nephews, Bill Gilbreth, of Modesto, California, and John Gore, of Potosi. She is also survived by two great-nephews, Wylie and Morgan Gore, and nine step-grandchildren.
