Dorothy Faye Adams, of Abilene, TX, passed away on August 10,2025, in Abilene, TX,
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16th at Hamil Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Adams of Bethesda Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Dorothy was born to Edra and Clara Green on January 28th, 1933, in Sweetwater, TX. She married G. B. Adams on January 15th, 1948, in Sweetwater, TX. She was a Homemaker who cared for her three children and her husband. She was an active member in her church, and she and her husband received an award for couple of the year from the city of Abilene. She loved being with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid deer hunter who looked forward to hunting season. In her later years she made many friends at the retirement homes where she lived.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, G. B. Adams, her parents, Edra and Clara Green, sisters, Earlene Gavit and LaVerne Williams, and her brothers, Mose (Sonny), and Bill Green, and her sons, G. B Jr. and Eddie Adams.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Jean Douglas, her children Robert (Karen) Adams, and Diann (Marvin) Lunsford, grandchildren, Shane (Diane) Adams, Shelley Hilliard, Brent (Vicki) Adams, Brandon (Opal) Adams, Brock (Tamara) or as Dorothy called her "Kamara" Adams, Staci (Shane) Faucett, and Josh (Melissa) or as we call her "Issa" Lunsford, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Adams, Zachary Adams, Michael Adams, Hunter Adams, Brady Faucett, Brennon Faucett, and Koby Lunsford.
Memorials may be given to: Alzheimer's Association. The family of Dorothy Adams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Hudman, the nurses on the PCU Unit at Hendrick South, as well as the Respiratory Department. They were all so compassionate in their care of our Mom. We would also like to express our appreciation to Gloria Wood and her staff who have provided care in the last years. Lastly, we would like to give a big "Thank You" to the caring staff on Unit 1 at Windcrest Health & Rehab and their administrative staff.
