Donna Lee Shipp

Donna Lee Shipp, 64, passed away on July 22nd in Abilene, TX.

Visitation will be at 5:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Dirk Littlefield officiating.  Interment will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Donna was born in Anson TX to William Thomas Lee and Nettie Elizabeth Lee on Nov 8, 1957.    Donna graduated from Anson High School in 1976 and worked as a teacher’s aide and then graduated cosmetology school.   Donna married Dan “Ryan” Shipp on Feb 28, 1999.   Donna worked as a cosmetologist for 39 years in Anson and Abilene.  

The light of Donna’s life was her daughter, Michele.  Donna cherished her time with clients, who became close friends, and she was truly interested in their wellbeing and that of their families.   Her gentle kindness allowed her touch and related to the souls of many.  Additionally, she loved all animals, with a passion for horses, and enjoyed working in her yard. 

Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Donna is survived by her husband, Dan “Ryan” Shipp; her daughter Michele Hall Newcomb and husband Jimmy; her sister Rhonda Lee Weaver and husband Davis.   Nephews include Dirk Littlefield and wife Kathy, Jathan Littlefield and wife Tamara and 6 great-nephews and one great-niece.  Other survivors include her uncle, Bill Debusk and six cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendricks Hospice, Rescue the Animals and First United Methodist Church of Anson, or your favorite charity.
