Dominga Olivares, 82, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2026, amongst family. Dominga was born on November 18, 1943 in Scott City, Kansas to Carlos Ignacio Lopez and Aniceta Guzman Lopez. Dominga attended Olton School until 4th grade. On January 16, 1965, Dominga married Angel Jesus T. Olivares and worked as a bookkeeper for Huffaker farms for 25 years.
Dominga is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Aniceta Lopez, her spouse Angel, her son Julian A. Olivares, her uncle Julian B. Gusman, her grandmother Genoveba B. Gusman, her brothers; Jessie Lopez and Mingo Lopez, as well as her sisters; Francis Lopez and Virginia Lopez Longoria. She is survived by her daughters; Mary V. Olivares, Viviana S. Olivares Driggs and her husband Dusty, her son Angel Jessie Olivares, Jr. and his wife Melynda Robinson Olivares, son Jose Moses Olivarez and his wife Cinnamon Keri Olivarez, sisters Lupe Lopez Sanchez and Mary Gusman Lopez, grandchildren; Julian Emilio Olivarez, Courtney Mlynn Olivares, Abigail Rose Olivarez, Chelsea Macy Olivares, Dustin Westergard Driggs, Jacob Matthew Driggs, Asa Lorenzo Driggs. Dominga also leaves behind two great-grandchildren: Lexi Faith Keith and Skye Faye Wyatt.
A Visitation and Rosary will be held at The Hamil Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 28th at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Anderson Chapel Cemetery in Anson, Texas. Pallbearers will be: Julian Emilio Olivarez, Courtney Mlynn Olivares, Abigail Rose Olivarez, Chelsea Macy Olivares, Dustin Westergard Driggs, Jacob Matthew Driggs, and Asa Lorenzo Driggs.
The family of Dominga Guzman Lopez Olivares wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Enhabit Hospice Nurses and CNA's, especially Paulette, Kimberly, Brooke, Ashley, Valerie, Jailey, Tammy and the chaplain. We would like to thank you all for teaching us how to take care of my mother and making it easy on all of us. We learned a lot from everyone, y'all did an excellent job. Also, would like to thank Sacred Heart Catholic Church for providing the legion of Mary for praying with my mother every week. We would also like to thank Dr. Brian Ganesh.
