Deborah Stephens

Deborah Stephens, age 56, of Tuscola, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday February 14th with many of her family present.. Deborah was born on March 11, 1963 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Jose Gomez and Guadalupe Zepeda. Deborah moved with her parents to South Texas where she lived in Alice and later Harlingen. After graduating from high school in Harlingen she moved to Houston and later Austin, Texas. During these years Deborah was close to her family always helping her mother and siblings in whatever way was needed. After moving to Austin Deborah went to work for Allstate Insurance. Deborah made many life long friends in her over a decade of work there. It was also at Allstate that Deborah met and later married her husband, David Stephens. They married on September 21,2002 and celebrated 17 years of marriage in 2019. Deborah and her family have been members at Wylie Baptist Church since 2011. She enjoyed Tuesday Ladies Bible Studies and the relationships she made there. Deborah was a loving person was known for her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. Deborah was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was caring and giving and will be greatly missed by all of us who love her. Deborah is survived by her husband David, one son Christopher Stephens; two daughters, Jessica Stephens of Portland, Oregon and Morgan Stephens of San Marcos, Texas, her mother Lupe Zepeda of Taylor, Texas; three sisters, Dolly Brailovsky of Taylor, Texas, Donna Cadena of Schertz, Texas and De'Ann Valverde of Pasadena, Texas; and two brothers, Joseph Gomez of Round Rock, Texas and Jason Gomez of Austin, Texas. Deborah is preceded in death by her father, Jose Gomez.
