Chris Herrera III, known to family and friends as Coco, passed away on September 14, 2026, at age 69. He was born on September 10, 1957, in Abilene, Texas, to Cris and Liz Herrera.

 The nickname Coco stayed with him throughout his life. Coco was a tremendous musician whose passion was family and the drums. He was friendly, loving, and caring, with a great sense of humor and quiet toughness.

 Those who knew him remember his laugh and the way he made people feel welcome.

 Coco was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Herrera-Garcia.

 He is survived by his parents, Cris and Liz Herrera; his sisters, Patricia, Martha (husband, Tony Delgado), and Maria (husband, Daniel Beard); his brother-in-law, Fred Garcia; his sons, Chris Herrera IV and Jonathan Herrera; his daughter-in-law, Jennie; and his grandchildren, Addison, Christopher Herrera V, and Kamden.

 Coco will be remembered as a son, a brother, a father, and a grandfather-for his music, his humor, his love of family, and the special place he held in the hearts of those who loved him.
