Cheryl Annette Duttlinger (née Leazenby), 61, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 25, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ben and Dorothy Leazenby, Cheryl brought light, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband, David Duttlinger; her beloved children, Josh Duttlinger and his wife Markell, and Afton Duttlinger; and her cherished grandsons, Connor and Weston, who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Ben and Dorothy Leazenby, siblings, Richard Leazenby, Dennis Richard Leazenby, Dennis Leazenby, and Aimee Beck; and a circle of close-knit friends who became her chosen family, a testament to her deep and lasting connections with those around her.
Cheryl dedicated many years of service to the City of Abilene and later poured her heart into caring for clients at APO. Her compassion, work ethic, and kind spirit touched countless lives.
She found her greatest happiness surrounded by her grandchildren, tending to her beautiful plants, and spending time at the pool or beach with family and friends. Cheryl's infectious laugh, radiant smile, and generous heart defined who she was always quick to help those she loved and unwavering in her role as the world's best wife, mom, and "Grams." Cheryl's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Celebration of Life will be 6:00pm to 10:00pm on Saturday June 14, 2025 at the Peacock Patio located at 536 Hickory St., Abilene, Texas 79601.
