Bruce T. Morris

Bruce Morris, 87, of Abilene, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, in Anson. He was born on March 15, 1935 in Canton, TX to Jefferson Thomas and Opal Myrtis Morris.

Visitation will be from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, followed by a memorial service at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Services will be officiated by Dr. Jeff Reid.

Bruce married Betty Joyce Martin on August 25, 1955, in Abilene.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Morris; son, Barry Morris and wife Gene Ann; daughter, Becky Rector and husband Randy; daughter, Barbi Flowers and husband Kregg; brother, Calvin Morris and wife Diana; sister, Peggy Michel, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in his name to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Building Fund, Gideon’s International, or the memorial of your choice.
