Brenda Granstrom Schmidt, 77, of Abilene, Texas (formerly of Austin, Texas), passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in Abilene.

Visitation/Memorial will be Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 3-4:30 at Wesley Court Senior Living Community (2617 Antilley Rd, Abilene, TX 79606).

Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen (11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, TX 76542), with Lane Northcut, Executive Pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church (Austin) officiating.

Brenda was born December 10, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Helen and Carl Granstrom. She married Leonard Schmidt on February 18, 1969, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.

Brenda is survived by son Brian, granddaughter Aislynn, and daughter-in-law Erin.

Brenda Schmidt was an extremely kind, generous, and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She holds a special place in the heart and memory of anyone who was blessed to know her.
