Bobby Hammond "Bob" Love, 72, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at an Abilene medical center.
The son of Thelma Christeen (Bivens) and Woodrow Hammond Love, Bob was born on September 24, 1937 in Paris, Texas, where he was reared and attended school. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves while living in Paris, and in 1958 moved from Paris to Littlefield, Texas. In 1969 he moved from Littlefield to Abilene.
Bob worked as the West Texas Sales Representative for Dr. Pepper in Dallas, Texas for 30 years. He also worked for the Pepsi Bottling Plant in Abilene for ten years before his retirement from Pepsi.
Bob married Deborah M. Eubank on December 30, 1978 in Ft. Stockton, Texas. He was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene.
His parents and one sister, Wanda Patricia Love, preceded Bob in death.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debbie Love of Abilene; three sons, Eddie Love and wife Katrina of Ransom Canyon, Texas, Stephen Love of Vilonia, Arkansas, and Gary Love of Abilene; two daughters, Cindy Love-Hughes and husband Ray of Conroe, and April Love and boyfriend David Upshaw of Lubbock; and six grandchildren, Christopher Love, Morgan Juarez, Madison Murgia, Stephanie Tindall, Jennifer Love and Jessica Love.
Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Betty Eubank of Andrews; brother, Jimmy Love and wife Carolyn of Fort Worth, and their children Demmie Sue Love and Candace Healy and husband Pat; sister, Jan Bankston and husband Steve of Amherst, Texas; and their son Brian Bankston.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Allcorn and Chaplain E. J. Chafin officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the funeral home.
