Bobby Joe Brown, 78, of Abilene, Tx, passed away on April 17,2026.

Visitation will be 5:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, April 22,2026 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pmThursday, April 23, 2026 at Broadview Baptist Church, Abilene. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Bobby Joe Brown was born in Carbon, Tx to Bobby and Gerrie Brown on March 3,1948.

He went to school at Abilene High School. He married Vickie Hutchens on July 19, 1968 in Abilene, TX. He worked in the insurance business for Transport Life Company for more than 20 years. After retiring in 1998, he began investing in real estate, where he built and managed a successful rental property business that he continued for the rest of his life. He was a devoted member of Broadview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved his church deeply, formed many lasting friendships there, and faithfully served in a variety of roles over the years.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Vickie Brown, his parents, Bobby and Gerrie Brown and his brothers Ken Brown and Marvis Diggs.

Bobby is survived by daughters, Kristi Rodriguez and spouse Stan, Amy Kasberg and spouse Sam; grandchildren Blaine Kasberg and spouse Lindsey, Allie Wilkins, Hannah Silva and spouse Luis, Brooke Kasberg, Cole Rodriguez and Grace Kasberg; great-grandchildren, Lyla Kasberg and Liam Silva; siblings Joyce Beard and spouse Ronnie, Linda Shott and spouse Mickey and sister-in-law, Jill Brown.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Kasberg, Cole Rodriguez, Sam Kasberg, Stan Rodriguez, Taner Shott, Tully Brown, Cade Brown and Luis Silva.
