Bobbie Pyburn

October 6, 1936 — February 6, 2023

Bobbie Louise (Williams) Pyburn, 86, of Abilene, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 6, 2023.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 10, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 HWY 277 S, Abilene, TX.

Bobbie was born in Deming, New Mexico to Clarence M. and Hettie Rambo Williams October 6, 1936. Upon graduating from Deming High School, Bobbie attended McMurry College where she met the love of her life, Dwain and they were married May 20, 1955. Upon Dwain's graduation from McMurry College in May 1956 they moved to Virginia where Dwain served 4 years with the US Marine Corps. They returned to Texas choosing Abilene as the place to build their life and family. Bobbie worked with the Texas Department of Safety - Engineering Section before she found her true calling in the world of real estate. Bobbie enjoyed serving Abilene and surrounding area as a realtor for over 30 years. After retirement in 1995, Bobbie worked alongside Dwain at their farm growing vegetables, peaches, pecans, and canning jams to sell at the local Farmers Market until Summer, 2022. Bobbie was a member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church where she served faithfully. Bobbie enjoyed teaching Sunday School, being involved with the Youth Programs, working at the Elmwood West Fair Booth, serving on committees and various Mission Projects. Bobbie loved God and served him until she was called home.  

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and many other special family members and friends.

Bobbie, lovingly known as “Nanaw” is survived by husband, Dwain Pyburn; son, Mark Pyburn; daughter, Christy Adkins and husband Ron; her grandchildren, Alyssa Tochterman, MD and husband Jerred, Ashton Emmons and husband Josh, and Lane Adkins; her great grandchildren Jett Tochterman and Parker Jo Emmons.

Bobbie loved serving and helping others. Charitable gifts can be made in her memory to: United Methodist Food Pantry, PO Box 863, Abilene, TX 79604.
