Bobbie Lou Mayfield

Bobbie Mayfield, 92, of Abilene, passes away on April 12, 2022 in Abilene.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 15 at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Bobbie was born in Jones County to Jody and Bessie Proffitt on March 9, 1930. She went to school and graduated from Anson. She married Robert Mayfield on September 3, 1948 in Anson. Bobbie worked in sales for Andrews Furniture. She was the President of Albany PTA, Albany Study Club, as well as a Sunday school teacher for First Baptist Church in Albany, WMU Circles Albany, and Wylie Baptist Church.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, three sisters, and two brothers.

She is survived by her children, Christie (Joe) Key, Joe (Sheila) Mayfield, brothers George and Cecil Proffitt, grandchildren Lorie Haas and Rob Key, and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Wylie Baptist Church. The family of Bobbie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her special friend, Pearl Jamison, and all the great people at Wesley Court.
