Billie Ruth Wallace Stephenson of Tuscola, age 89, went to be with her heavenly Father on July 25, 2022. Her loving husband, son and daughter were at her side.  She was born on January 16, 1933 in the Mt. Zion community, Brown County, Texas to Elnora Ruth Holcomb Wallace and William Houston (Buster) Wallace.

The visitation will be Monday, August 1,2022, from 10:00-11:00 am with services following at 11:00 am at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, officiated by Reverend Karen Boyd. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.

At an early age Billie and her family moved from Brown County to a farm in the community of Whon, Coleman County, Texas. She attended elementary school in Whon, then attended Santa Anna High School, graduating in 1951. Billie married Clifford William (C.W.) Stephenson Jr. on July 15, 1951. Shortly thereafter they moved to Abilene, Texas.

During her professional career Billie worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, office manager and vice president. She completed her working years by owning and operating her own interior decorating business called Interiors by Billie.

Billie is survived by her husband of 71 years, her son Gary Stephenson and Debbie of Abilene, her daughter Barbara Stephenson Kelley and Benton of Grapevine, Texas, grandson David Stephenson and Lindsay of Powder Springs, Georgia, granddaughters Stephanie Moncla and Aaron of Abilene and Kristina Wallace and Brett of Buffalo, New York, great granddaughters Piper, Lainey and Amelia Stephenson and great grandsons Blake and Bryson Moncla, her brother Morris Wallace and Rose of Melbourne, Florida and her sister Nelda Brink and Benny of Agate, Colorado.

The Stephenson family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Wisteria Place for their love, care and kindness shown to both Billie and CW.
