Bennie Mouser

September 27, 1937 — April 18, 2025

Bennie Ruth George Mouser

After the stillbirth of a baby girl and death of a three month old baby boy due to a congenital heart defect, the prayers of Spencer and Ethel Cadenhead George were answered. A baby girl was born on September 27,1937, to this devout Christian couple. Bennie Ruth was named after her maternal grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Cadenhead.

Bennie Ruth was taught the Bible from an early age, nurtured, and loved. She was given every advantage to develop her talents and abilities as her mother read Bible stories to her and taught her to read at an early age. She was given the opportunity to develop talents with speech lessons, piano, and accordion lessons. She was enrolled in the band program in the seventh grade. Bennie Ruth qualified to be in the Senior Brownwood High School Band in the eighth grade which began her most joyful experiences. She was also in the Brownwood High School Stage Band and Old Grey Mare Band. She often said she couldn't imagine life without band.

Bennie Ruth's dad had no patience for ignorance. He instructed his daughter continually in the Bible, history, and mechanics. The family toured historical places as well as the mountains, seashores, and Yellowstone National Park.

After high school graduation Bennie Ruth attended Abilene Christian College where she met Bob Mouser. They married and Bennie worked so that he could graduate with a degree in accounting. They were blessed with two precious boys, Daryll and Don. The family was fortunate to be able to buy a 227 acres farm, build their house on the property and move to the farm when the boys were 4 and 6 years old. What a beautiful life. The boys had adventures running free on the land, raising baby calves, pigs, chickens, and riding their horses. Tragedy struck the family when Don's life was taken at age 16 by leukemia.

Bennie returned to Abilene Christian University to graduate with a degree in Special Ed. /Education. She was hired by the Abilene Public School District and taught for 28 eight years, twenty seven of which were at Dyess Elementary. She considered her experiences at Dyess Elementary to be a tremendous blessing. She loved teaching and being part of a team to insure students received the best education possible. The teachers and staff became precious friends for life. These friends were family!

Bennie was cognizant of her blessed life- her savior, Jesus Christ and the sacrifices made by people before her which secured her life in a land of liberty where there was nothing to fear. After retirement she became involved in activities to educate and persuade people as to their responsibility for good government. It was rewarding as she met many who also believed "to whom much is given, much is required."

Bennie Ruth Mouser's immediate family was small and she is only survived by her son, Daryll and grandson, Jonathan.
