Barbara Scott

March 26, 1932 — February 20, 2024

Barbara Sue Scott 91 of Clyde, passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2024.

 Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Graveside services will be 3:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson, TX., with David Peterson of Clyde Church of Christ, officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

 Barbara Sue McCoy was born in Merkel to Floyd Lafayette and Mary Frances (Thornton) McCoy. She graduated from Anson High School in 1949 and moved to Lubbock in 1971 where she graduated from Texas Tech where she received her master’s degree in teaching.  She married Lloyd Osburn Scott on August 26, 1950 and they spent many happy years together until his death on June 29, 1995. She worked as a teacher for Lubbock ISD from 1971 to 1995 mostly at Overton Elementary. Barbara was one who never met a stranger and loved dogs.  Barbara was a member of Wylie Baptist church. 

 Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and her brothers, Duane McCoy, Douglas McCoy and sister, Wanda Haisler.

 Barbara is survived by her nephew, Kenneth McCoy and wife, Anita of Clyde, TX., nieces; Sherry Nuzzo and husband, Phillip of California, Jerilyn Woods and husband, Christopher of Spring, TX., Kathy Haisler of Cameron, Tx., Carolyn Cutaia and husband, Frank,  Janice McCoy of Abilene and Becky Furlough and her many Wylie Baptist church friends.

 The family of Barbara Scott wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hendrick Hospice for their loving care during this time.
