Barbara was a long time resident of Hobbs, NM where she and husband Larry raised their daughters over a period of 57 years. Prior to moving to Hobbs, she and her family lived in Dumas, TX and Clovis, NM. She graduated from Dumas High School, and attended Texas Women's University for a year before returning to Dumas to marry Larry. Barbara always loved her family. She grew up with loving parents and three wonderful brothers. She had a life long love with Larry and then lovingly mothered her three daughters. Her quiet listening skills, loving heart and devotion to home were a beautiful foundation creating deep friendships with these three daughters and many women in the community. Her resume at 90 years of age, included 70 years of marriage, co-entrepreneurship of businesses with Larry, parenting and grand-parenting. She shared her staunch faithfulness with preschoolers (for 20 plus years as bible teacher at Jefferson Street Church of Christ, where she was a member for 57 years) and widows and widowers (always a friend and caregiver to the senior community). We celebrate the gift of her beautiful life, so gracious in manner, in speech and heart. Our family would like to recognize the tremendous care provided by the staff of Touching Hearts at Home and our special caregiver Angela. Barbara's life in Abilene was also greatly enriched by the love and support of her beloved brother and sister and neighbors - thank you Vance & Chris.
