Avon Jerrell Martin

Avon J. Martin, 86 of Abilene passed away peacefully on Thursday July 16, 2026.

Graveside Service 10:00 am Saturday July 18, 2026, at Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Dr. Larry Fitzgerald, officiating.

Avon was born on August 6, 1939, in Lubbock, Texas to Jessie and Eva Lucille (Johnson) Martin. He married Carolyn Cole and worked as an independent paint contractor for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Avon is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his two sons; Ed Martin of Buffalo Gap and Larry Martin of Robert Lee, Texas; two brothers, Eldon and Donald Ray Martin and a sister Dorothy Fern Ralls and 2 grandchildren
