Arvella Mary Jannise

Arvella Mary Jannise, 86, of Abilene, Texas passed away on December 23, 2021, in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Arvella Jannise was born in Eunice, Louisiana to Rene and Delia Lefleur on February 6, 1936. She married Homer Jannise on July 6, 1954, in Elton, Louisiana. The couple was stationed in Ashiya, Japan and returned to the US to settle in Abilene, Texas in 1959. She later worked for Farrington Oil Company as an accountant. Arvella Jannise was preceded in death by her parents Rene and Delia Lefleur and her sister Dorothy Douget. Arvella is survived by her husband of 67 years, Homer Jannise, her sons, Michael and his spouse Norma of Mckinney, Texas, Ricky of Abilene and her two grandchildren, Alyssa and Cameron also of McKinney. Arvella was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, baking and visiting with her friends and family.
