David Conner, 86, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in Abilene.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

David was born in Haskell, Texas to Lloyd and Mamie Conner on December 17, 1939. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1958. He married Tommie Nell Gordon on October 4,1958 in Haskell, Texas. He worked at Haskell National Bank for 14 years, eventually taking the position of assistant vice-president. He moved to Odessa and Abilene for various employment opportunities and retired in Abilene from World Finance in 2019. He was involved in the Jaycees for many years in Haskell. He received numerous achievement awards for loyalty and commitment to his employers and companies he worked for.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mamie, siblings H.L Conner, Jack Slater, Gladys Riggs, Nellwyn Graham, son-in-law Raymond Tucker, and great-granddaughter Lily Grace Maxey.

David is survived by sister Janet Stephens, children Regenia (Conner) Tucker, Cheryl (Conner) Wray and husband, Bob, David Conner II and wife, Amber. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful and best friend, his dog Rusty. He was dearly loved by all.
